Why Leeds United have a vested interest in who wins this weekend's Championship play-off final

sbo bz sbobet Although it was only a couple of weeks ago, it feels an age since Leeds United ended their Championship season with a low-octane 2-0 win over QPR at Elland Road. The manner of the team's 2018 collapse from play-off hopefuls to one of the division's most out-of-form sides meant most fans wanted the campaign over and forgotten about as soon as possible and that's before they even went over to Myanmar. While plenty has gone on at Elland Road since the start of May, the season is just reaching its climax for two sides.

Aston Villa and Fulham lock horns at Wembley on Saturday tea-time in the Richest Match in the World TM, the Championship play-off final which, depending on who you believe, is worth anything north of £200million. Leeds fans will no doubt be watching on enviously at the action under the arch this weekend, after their side put in a campaign that fell well short of the standard required for a top six finish. But while Leeds get to work this summer on strengthening their squad that finished 15 points adrift of the play-off spots, they will have a vested interest in who wins at Wembley - as it could have a huge affect on next seasons' Championship campaign. sbo bz sbobet

Since January Fulham were almost unstoppable, going on an unbeaten run which only ended on the final day of the regular season, when they lost 3-1 to relegation-threatened Birmingham - a result which ended up costing them automatic promotion. Aston Villa overcame a poor start to the season, but came good as seasoned promotion specialist Steve Bruce and one of the division's strongest squads easily sealed a play-off spot by the end of the campaign. The bookies have Fulham as the slight favourites, but Leeds fans should be hoping that Aston Villa are the ones celebrating come 7pm on Saturday evening.

Should Villa fail to win then they will start next season's campaign as one of the favorites to win promotion as they will fancy their chances of being able to keep the nucleus of their squad together, especially as with their bank account flush from a £40million parachute payment from the Premier League and another one on the way. If Villa do enjoy their day in the sun and condemn Fulham to another season in the second tier, then there will likely be big changes at Craven Cottage next season. Their success this season has come on the back of a key trio Ryan Sessegnon, Tom Cairney and loan star Aleksandar Mitrovic, all of whom they could be without next season. sbo bz sbobet

Scott Brown believes he and John McGinn at Celtic could be a formidable partnership if deal is done

แทง บอล Scott Brown has enjoyed going to war for 90 minutes with mate John McGinn but he’d rather his rival was alongside him in the trenches. The Celtic skipper is watching his club’s pursuit of the midfielder with interest and is hoping McGinn will follow his path from Easter Road to team up at Parkhead.

The pair relished some tasty scraps last term but Brown is sure they would make a formidable Hoops partnership.Brown said: “We get on really well off the park. It’s always harder to play against your mates, more than anything.

“I’m very surprised at how he plays. He gets the ball and drives forward.“He has done it with Scotland as well. He has taken Hibs by the scruff of the neck and strolled through most of the games in the Premiership last season.“He wants to fight, he wants to battle. He’s one of the strongest ones there is. Everyone says you would want him beside you rather than against you.

“He’s got a great left foot, he’s strong, he wants to win the ball back. He also has a goal in him so he has pretty much everything you need. แทง บอล ”Brown has watched scores of stars pitch up at Parkhead and fail to make the grade but has no doubt McGinn has what it takes to fill a Celtic shirt.

The Hoops skipper has already seen the 23-year-old make a seamless step up to Scotland level and is convinced he has the qualities to cut it at the champions.Brown reckons his pal is an even better prospect than he was at Hibs before his move along the M8 in 2007 and said: “John has already done it with Scotland.

“When I was John’s age, I was a totally different player to him. I just ran about smashing people. John’s got a lot more than I had at that age.“I’ve matured into playing central midfield and sitting in front of the back four more.“John’s still got that energy to go from box to box. When he has that, he might as well use it to his full ability.”

Brown would welcome McGinn with open arms – even though the Hibs man has been touted as his natural successor. The 33-year-old said: “Yeah, he did it for Scotland.“I think a lot of people were surprised he got in the squad ahead of more experienced players at Aberdeen and elsewhere. But by far, he shone. แทง บอล “In his first game at Hampden against Denmark he played alongside me. He was outstanding and got man of the match.
